Stonehedge's New Romance Divisions
In the publishing industry, the romance genre accounts for over fifty percent of releases and sales. Some estimates put the volume as high as sixty-four percent. At SP, we pride ourselves on managing to do two things at once; stay current to the industry and market, and yet blaze our own trail. For the convenience of our readers, we have decided to sort our romances into divisions. These will act as a built in ratings system. Potential purchasers will know exactly what level of adult content to expect. Degrees of violence and language will be addressed within the same parameters.
While it pleases us to provide guidelines for readers, we refuse to limit the creativity of our writers. We believe in strong story plots and strong content based on artistic merit, not gratuitous padding. SP staff kindly suggests potential buyers please keep these divisions in mind when purchasing.
Sunset – The tried and true 'sweet' romance. Not necessarily puppies, babies and shared ice cream sundaes, however. This rating means mild. No sex shown, only perhaps referenced or inferred. Language, again, mild. Scant or no violence.
Candlelight – Light, non-detail intense sexual contact. More insinuation with moderate potential for language and violence.
Sizzle – Sexy, but short of racy. More out of bedroom play with perhaps a dash of spice. Tempered sex scenes. The heat in this division stems from tension and temptation. Language and violence to scale.
Flame – Here, the heat turns up. Racy language and sexual situations. Some experimentation during flirtations and sex scenes. Potential for role play, light bondage. Erotic without explicitness. Language and violence to scale.
Wildfire - The apex of romantica. As the name indicates, the elements of eroticism, language and potential for violence flame out of control. This represents the most edgy portion of the genre. Readers should understand this rating means highly adventurous readers only. Hot, explicit and guaranteed to satisfy.
